    Change of Watch and Annual General Meeting

    As Commodore of the Canadian Fleet, and on behalf of the fleet’s members, I wish to extend a warm welcome to all CYA members attending the International Board of Directors Meeting, Change of Watch Ceremony and associated activities on January 13-15, 2023 in Vancouver, British Columbia.  In this the 54th year of the establishment of the Classic Yacht Association I’m certain this was will prove to be another notable event.


    Weekend Agenda

    Friday, January 13, 2023 

    • Arrive at Hotel
      check-in time is 4 p.m.

    The hotel will try to accommodate members who arrive prior to that time.  Luggage can be held at the hotel until your room is available. You will be presented with a welcome package.

    • Meet and Greet at the Tap & Barrel 
      :30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. 

    After freshening up members will be guided over to the Tap and Barrel Restaurant located on Granville Island at 1696 Duranleau Street, Vancouver. There will be a selection of hot Hors D’oeuvres.  Red and white wine, and a variety of craft beer will be available for a cost of $10.00 to $12.50 CDN. per glass - this is a great room and should be a lot of fun. 

    COST:  $36.00  USD ($42.00  CDN) per person

    • Annual Board of Directors Meeting (Day 1)
      a.m. to 12 noon   

    Coffee, tea, muffins and pastries etc. will be available for those members attending the meeting

    • Vancouver Maritime Museum Tour
      2 pm to 4 pm 

    A guided tour of the Vancouver Maritime Museum includes the history of the Wild and Wet Rum Runners around the Pacific Northwest. During the visit no food and beverages are permitted throughout the Museum. 

    COST: $21.00 USD ($25.00  CDN) Per Person

    International Board Meeting & Change of Watch
    January 14, 2023

    The formal dinner will commence at 6:30 p.m. and is in the main dining room of the Season’s Restaurant which is located on 33rd Ave. at the top of “Little Mountain”.  Transportation will be arranged for attendees. If you require a special diet for the Saturday night banquet, please send your questions or concerns via email to randall.olafson@gmail.com.  See Menu below.  A selection of suitable red and white wines will be available.

      9 a.m. to 12 noon

    Coffee, tea, muffins and pastries etc. will be available for those members attending the meeting.

    •  Departure

    Members depart for home ports following the 2nd day of the Board Meetings


    Members can make a hotel reservation at the Granville Island Boutique Hotel.

    We are pleased to announce we have secured 20 rooms at a rate of $199.00 CDN per night at the Granville Island Boutique Hotel.   The block of rooms at this special rate, will only be held until December 11, 2022.  As most of you probably know if you have stayed at the hotel previously, this is an excellent location to host an event, as the meeting rooms are comfortable and the amenities are good.

    Payment Options

    The Registration values for the Meet and Greet at the Tap & Barrel, the Vancouver Maritime Museum Tour and the Saturday Evening Banquet are in US Dollars.  Canadian dollar costs are in the event descriptions above.

    US members can register and pay online in US dollars.   We would like the Canadian members to register online and to avoid currency conversion fees pay in Canadian dollars directly to the Cdn. Fleet Treasure by either mailing a cheque to:
