Greetings! Opening Day is approaching and Seattle Yacht Club has planned a virtual Opening Day parade. (No on-the-water parade.) Go to this link to register your boat for the virtual parade (free.)

But I don’t think a virtual Opening Day is good enough -- so I am planning something else! Get yourself and your boat all dressed up (blue and white or other nautical attire for you and signal flags for that beautiful wooden boat).
Meet your other CYA boats at 13:00 hours on Saturday, May 1 in front of Gasworks Park. Be ready to parade by 13:15. We will monitor Channel 68. The parade will go from Gasworks to Portage Bay and then down the Montlake Cut. We will make a large circle at the end of the cut in Union Bay (watch for shallow water in front of the UW dock) and then come back to Lake Union and parade counter clock wise (on the West Side of Lake Union going south) to Lake Union Park.
I have reserved the cement moorage walls at South Lake Union Park for May 1 and 2. There we will moor and gather six feet apart. Bring an appetizer that doesn’t involve too much dipping/sharing so that it is COVID friendly. You can spend the night on the dock if you wish.
Questions - Contact Diane Lander commodore@classicyacht.org. RSVPs required as I need to know how many boats. If you can come, please click on the link below to register on our site.
Happy Opening Day!! Diane Event Coordinator, and CYA Commodore
