    to the Edmonds Waterfront Festival
    June 1-3 

      Once again the Port of Edmonds and Edmonds Rotary have invited us to bring our beautiful boats to the Port as part of the Edmonds Waterfront Festival. We would like to completely fill the available mooring spaces with our boats because their is some talk about inviting different boats next year and the Port would like to have us come back.       As usual the Port would like us to open our boats to the public which is why they provide moorage Friday and Saturday nights. They also provide free entrance to the Festival grounds. So we should be open from 11am to 4pm with time out for lunch. The Festival itself officially opens on Friday, June 1st at 3pm and continues until 10pm. If you want to open your boat that evening it is up to you. Saturday the Festival opens at 11am and closes at 10pm and on Sunday it opens at 11am and closes at 7pm. We can arrive any time after noon on Friday and should not leave until after 4pm on Sunday in order to allow the public access on both days.

     This year there is a change in moorage availability since a whale watching boat, SARATOGA, will have permanent moorage between the north side of J dock and the south side of K dock. This gives our boats an even smaller area in which to moor and makes it more important that you sign up early and don't back out at the last minute. Also, there will be no room for those who decide to come at the last minute if the moorage spaces are already filled. There will be a waiting list if needed.

       The port says that the SAROTOGA will only make one trip a day during the time we are there, so one exit and one re-entry.  She is a 73’ catamaran and her speed in the marina will be minimal as she leaves and returns. Passengers will be entering at the north entrance to the docks and boarding on J dock.

       We will provide each vessel a boat information sign, made from the information you provide in the registration form and a boat open and closed sign. 

       This is a smaller event than Bell Harbor and is a great one for new members to attend with their boats. Please contact Janice with any questions you may have.


    Friday, June 1st: Arrive and moor in your assigned space. Dinner on your own.
    Saturday, June 2nd:
         Coffee and Donuts 8am
         Boats open at 11am and close at 4pm
         Potluck 5:30pm - Each participant brings a dish of their choice to share with the entire group. 
    Sunday, June 3rd:
         Coffee and donuts 8am
         Boats open at 11am and close at 4pm
         Departure 4:15pm

         We will provide more information to each participant as the date draws nearer. The Edmonds Waterfront Festival has live entertainment, arts & crafts vendors, food courts, kid's activities, a beer & wine garden, hydroplanes, and our classic yachts.They also provide a free shuttle from the waterfront to the shops in Edmonds.

    Registrations are now being accepted for the largest event on the Classic Yacht Association calendar. Registration will again all take place on line this year. Space is limited.

    2018 Bell Street Pier Classic Rendezvous Marque Class will be “Blanchard-Built Boats”  Featured will be several of the Blanchard Stock Cruisers, and tentatively, a 72’ schooner and a 100’ fantail motor yacht.

    Registration and moorage for participating CYA member classics is complimentary Friday and Saturday nights. Registrants will receive final information in early June, and slip assignments shortly before the event. You must contact Bell Harbor Marina (206-787-3952) to reserve a slip if you plan to arrive before June 17 AND contact CYA Dock Master Bob Irving, (bobI@legacy to coordinate and confirm that slip assignment.

    A formal “Sail-In” takes place on Friday afternoon 6/17. Classics will gather off Elliott Bay Marina near Pier 91 at 1400 and parade along the Seattle waterfront to Bell Harbor. Parade logistics and instructions will follow at a later date.
    Friday eveningDinner is on your own.  A kickoff dessert begins at the base of the gangway at 2000. This is a dessert pot luck, please bring a yummy dessert of choice.
    Saturday morning 6/18Pastries, coffee and juice provided at 0800. The public will be invited to tour the docks and board open vessels from 1000 to 1600 on Saturday. Boarding is optional at owner’s discretion. Attendees will be provided a Rendezvous window sign describing their yacht and its history, as well as an open/closed window sign.
    Saturday evening -1800New this year:  Catered steak and salmon dinner on the plaza, $30 per person. Payment for the dinner must be received when you register.
    Father’s Day Sunday morning 6/19Omelet breakfast provided at 0800.  Vessels open to the public 1000-1600 on Sunday.

    Also new this year is the “Best Staging Contest” as follows:
    Longtime CYA member Monty Holmes and his company, Athletic Awards, has donated a beautiful new trophy to be awarded at Bell Street for “Best Staging.” Your boat will be judged “for staging.”  For example, if you have a 1920’s boat, do you have original components in the boat that you can highlight? A 1950’s boat might have an original tender with an old 1950’s motor.  A 60’s boat might be full of Space Needle memorabilia, etc.  We all do this to show our boats, let’s make it extra special this year!

    Visitors to the show will be receiving the customary printed program listing participating vessels.  First-time attendees, please provide a brief description of your boat and its history for the printed program, 100 words maximum.  Allparticipants’ information will be posted on line prior to printing for your approval and/or comments.

    We expect all participating vessels will allow rafting, if necessary, and will remain in their slips until the show closes at 4 pm on Sunday.  Moorage is available for Thursday and/or Sunday night by arrangement with the Harbormaster’s office.  If you choose to stay extra nights, please coordinate your slip assignment with CYA Dock Master Bob Irving.
